Becoming Jesus Centered … Dethroning Yourself
Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a Light to my path (Psalm 119:105). For the commandment is a lamp and the law is the light (Proverbs 6:23); the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making the wise simple; the statues of the Lord are right; rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether (Ps. 19:7-9).
- To be Jesus centered we must have His Word embedded in our heart.
- To be Jesus we must obey His Word
- To be Jesus centered we must live His Word
- To be Jesus centered we must proclaim His Word
- To be Jesus we must hunger and thirst for His Word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
- With Jesus Christ the Word of God sitting on the throne of our life it will alter our heart (Ps. 119:32 I will run in the way of your commandments, for You shall enlarge my heart).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life we will seek Him and the things of Him with our whole heart (Ps.119:10a with my whole heart I have sought You).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life I will not wander from His commandments (Ps. 119:10b oh, let me not wander from Your commandments).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life I automatically delight in His commandments and incline my heart to His testimonies (Ps 119:35-36 make me walk in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it; incline my heart to your testimonies, and not covetousness).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life, when I look into all of His commandments I will praise Him with uprightness of heart (119:7).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life you want to hide the Word of God in your heart (ps.119:11).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life I have chosen the Way of truth (Ps. 119:30).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life I trust in your Word (Ps. 119:42b).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life, Your Word is my comfort in my affliction for your Word has given me life (PS. 119:50).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life, He will teach me good judgment and knowledge for I believe your commandments (Ps.119:66).
- With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of my life my heart stands in awe of you Word (Ps 119:161b)
To put it plainly we need to long to hear your Word and your testimonies. How do we dethrone ourselves starts with Psalm 119. Study 119 line by line precepts upon precept. Deut. 8:1-3, man does not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Remember man did not write the Word, the Word wrote the Word.
With Jesus the Word of God sitting on the throne of you life, it will allow the world to see our love for one another, and be Jealous for unlegislated Love among men. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another (John 13:34); If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him (1 John 3:17).
This truly is the time to pray for the heart of God. We need to hear His voice; to be prepared for what’s ahead, and to be able to provide for and bless others.
